Samburu Governor Lati Lelelit has called on the national government to compensate 43 families whose livestock were killed during an ongoing security operation in Losesia, Samburu County, last week.
While supporting efforts to restore peace and security in the area, the governor strongly condemned actions that result in the destruction of property and harm to innocent civilians.
Pastoralists who lost animals, accompanied by their leaders, reported the matter at Archers Post Police Station a week after the incident. They are demanding thorough investigations into the circumstances in which the animals were killed.
