The preparation for the coronation of Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma, taking the royal name Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I, as the 15th ruler of Tooro Kingdom has entered the final stages. This is ahead of Tuesday’s coronation ceremony that will be held at Karuziika Palace in Fort Portal City.
By Sunday evening, all contracted service providers were putting the final touches around and outside the palace to ensure the event is colourful. President Yoweri Museveni, who also doubles as crown bearer (Omujwara Kondo), is expected to be the chief guest.
The same is happening at Rwengoma Palace, the ascension palace. The kingdom said more than 50,000 people are expected to grace the function.
