You can only vote in August 2027 if you are registered with the IEBC. Registering is free and takes a few minutes.

The IEBC has not announced the next registration drive yet. We will put the dates here as soon as it does. Your IEBC constituency office can tell you whether registration is open now.

Five steps

  1. Check you can registerYou are a Kenyan citizen, 18 or older, with a national ID card or a valid Kenyan passport. You register once only.
  2. Choose where you will voteYou vote where you register. Pick a centre near where you will be on election day.
  3. Go to a registration centreDuring a drive, the IEBC opens centres in every ward. At other times, ask at your IEBC constituency office.
  4. Take your original IDTake the same ID card or passport you will vote with. Copies are not accepted.
  5. Check your detailsYour fingerprints and photo are taken. Before you leave, make sure your name, ID number and centre are right.

Moved?

If you have moved, ask to transfer your registration during a drive, so you vote near where you live now.

Chagua is not part of the IEBC and never collects ID numbers. Rules and dates come from the IEBC; check iebc.or.ke for the latest.
