• Names and spelling
• Party affiliation
• The seat and area a candidate is contesting (county, constituency or ward)
• Candidacy stage: aspirant, party-nominated or IEBC-cleared
• Photos, logos, and contact or social media links
• Factual details in a biography, such as education or past positions

2What we don’t change

• Opinions, commentary, or how a candidate feels about accurate information.
• Poll results. They reflect votes cast by signed-in users and are not edited on request.
• News reports published by other outlets. Please contact the publisher directly.
• Accurate information is not removed because someone asks.

3Sources we rely on

In order, most authoritative first:

1. IEBC notices, gazettement and official candidate lists
2. The Kenya Gazette
3. The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties
4. Official statements from political parties
5. Reports from established news organisations
6. The candidate’s own official channels

Where sources disagree, we follow the most authoritative one and may hold a change until it is confirmed.

4How we review a report

We check every report against the sources above, and may contact you for more detail. Most corrections are reviewed within 3 working days. Reports about party, seat or candidacy stage are handled first, because they affect how people vote.

5Profile owners

Candidates and parties can claim their profile to update it directly. Official facts (party, seat, area and IEBC stage) keep following official sources after a profile is claimed.
