United Democratic Alliance (UDA) MPs have dismissed Deputy President Prof Kithure Kindiki’s coronation as the Mt Kenya region’s kingpin and spokesperson.
MPs George Kariuki of Ndia, George Koimburi (Juja) and George Gachagua (Ndaragwa) said that the exercise, that occured at Kirigiti stadium in Kiambu County a week ago, did not involve all elders and lacked the community’s blessings.
The lawmakers spoke during a meeting with Kiama Kia Ma elders in Juja constituency in Saturday. They maintained that the region’s leadership mantle is still held by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who assumed the role in 2011.
