The remarks come days after President William Ruto criticised Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna for calling for the details of the project to be made public, accusing him of extortion.

Meanwhile, Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki has issued a fresh warning to illicit alcohol sellers in the Mt. Kenya region, saying the government will no longer tolerate the trade.

The High Court has quashed notices issued by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to seven Supreme Court judges over complaints seeking their removal, ruling that the commission failed to undertake the required preliminary assessment before commencing the process.

A three-judge bench led by Justices Charles Kariuki, Lawrence Mugambi and Bahati Mwamuye declared the communications, notices and directions issued by the JSC unconstitutional, legally ineffective, null and void.

The court also prohibited the JSC from taking any further steps or commencing or continuing proceedings based on the defective notices or the complaints arising from the same set of facts.

NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 2 – The High Court has quashed notices issued by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) requiring seven Supreme Court judges to respond to complaints seeking their removal, finding that the commission failed to conduct the required preliminary assessment before setting the removal process in motion.

A three-judge bench comprising Justices Charles Kariuki, Lawrence Mugambi and Bahati Mwamuye declared the JSC’s communications, notices and directions arising from the complaints unconstitutional, null and void.

The court also barred the commission from taking further steps on the complaints or commencing or continuing proceedings based on the same set of facts.
