The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has withdrawn a case against two police officers and two civilians accused of a series of armed robberies, kidnappings and extortion targeting motorists and members of the public along Thika Road and its environs.
The decision followed an application by the main complainant, Cyrus Mwangi Wahongo, who told a Makadara court that he no longer wished to pursue the matter after recovering the money allegedly stolen from him.
In a letter dated October 1, 2026, and signed by Erick Mutuku, the ODPP said it had considered Wahongo’s sworn affidavit and his decision to withdraw his complaint while the matter was still at the investigation stage.
