The Kenyan government has approved the settlement of pending bills worth Ksh 23.74 billion, offering relief to thousands of suppliers and contractors who have waited for years to receive payments for goods and services they provided.
On Friday, October 9, 2026, the Cabinet announced the decision at State House, Nairobi, approving the settlement of verified government bills worth Ksh 50 million and below.
“The payment of 28,726 verified bills totalling KSh23.74 billion, representing 98 per cent of the 29,257 recommended for settlement, will bring long-awaited relief to thousands of suppliers and contractors, some owed money since 2005,” the Cabinet stated.
