Residents of Tharaka in Tharaka Nithi County are calling on the county and national governments to work together to prevent the spread of Ebola following confirmation of Kenya’s first case, according to Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.
The residents say they fear a repeat of the disruptions witnessed during the COVID-19 pandemic, when quarantine measures were imposed, and several businesses were forced to close.
