People's Party of Kenya (PPK) leader Ndindi Nyoro is demanding full disclosure of the shareholding structure of the proposed Dangote oil refinery, arguing that the deal is a matter of public interest and that Kenyans have a right to scrutinise its details.

Nyoro has accused President William Ruto's administration of underhand dealings in the project, as questions mount over how the government intends to finance its stake through the National Infrastructure Fund.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) based at JKIA have arrested 14 suspects, including three serving police officers and foreign nationals, in a raid on a warehouse in Nairobi’s Vision Plaza Industrial Area where suspected counterfeit US currency, fake gold bars and materials believed to be used in the production of forged banknotes were recovered.

The operation, conducted on October 1, 2026, followed a complaint by a US national, Alkhalifi Ibrahim Hassan, which was recorded at the JKIA Police Station.

The suspects include nationals of Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon and Sudan, as well as three officers attached to the Security of Government Buildings (SGB) at Uhuru Camp.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said Kenya was ready to move to comprehensive negotiations with China under the China-Africa Development Economic Partnership framework, arguing that the arrangement could create more opportunities for Kenyan businesses to access the Chinese market.

Speaking in Nairobi on Wednesday during a reception to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Mudavadi said early gains were already being recorded in exports of coffee, tea and avocados.
