NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 11 – Electricity consumers will face additional costs in October after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced new monthly adjustments, including a fuel energy charge of Sh3.22 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
The latest adjustments also include a foreign exchange fluctuation charge of 87 cents per unit and a water resource management levy of 1.34 cents per kWh, bringing the combined additional charges to approximately Sh4.10 per unit consumed.
In a notice dated Friday, October 9, EPRA said the foreign exchange adjustment would apply to meter readings taken in September 2026, while the fuel energy cost and water resource management levy would apply to October readings.
