Party activity
Leaders allied to the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP)
have condemned what they describe as a growing culture of political insults and
disrespect, accusing the government of fuelling divisive rhetoric ahead of next
year’s general election.
Led by party Secretary-General John Methu during a tour of
Kajiado County, the leaders claimed the government was feeling the heat from
the opposition and had resorted to personal attacks instead of issue-based
politics.
They seized the opportunity to lash out at the Kenya Kwanza
administration, accusing President William Ruto of promoting hate politics
through insults, name-calling and what they termed misplaced anger.
