Quality healthcare is a strategic investment in military welfare, force resilience and operational readiness. Through international medical partnerships, the Defence Forces Medical Insurance Scheme (DEFMIS) continues to broaden access to advanced treatment for Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel and their dependants.

In a significant step towards expanding specialised healthcare services, a DEFMIS delegation led by the Managing Director, Brigadier H. A. Amin, undertook a management visit to India to assess leading medical institutions and explore opportunities for healthcare collaboration.

The delegation visited Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Hyderabad, Apollo Hospital in New Delhi and three branches of Max Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi, evaluating their capacity to provide advanced diagnostic and treatment services to eligible DEFMIS beneficiaries.
