The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate the collapse of a multi-storey building in Eastleigh, Nairobi, amid concerns over possible failures in construction, approval and supervision.
In a press statement dated October 26, 2026, the ODPP said the investigations would establish the circumstances that led to the collapse, which reportedly caused injuries, property damage and left some people missing.
The probe will examine whether the private developer, contractors, construction professionals or Nairobi City County Government officials committed any wrongdoing that may have contributed to the incident.
