The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) has launched formal investigations into the collapse of a multi-storey building in Eastleigh, Nairobi, as authorities continue searching for people reported missing following the disaster.

In a public statement released on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the Board said it would investigate the factors that may have contributed to the collapse and establish whether engineers involved in the project bear any professional responsibility.

The building collapsed on Friday, October 23, along Yusuf Haji Avenue on 9th Street in Eastleigh, leaving a trail of rubble and raising fresh concerns about construction safety and regulatory oversight in Nairobi.
