Inspector-General of Police Douglas Kanja has urged officers to uphold political neutrality, impartiality and professionalism as the country prepares for the forthcoming electoral period.
Speaking during the National Joint Prayers and Thanksgiving Service for officers of the uniformed and disciplined services at Holy Family Minor Basilica in Nairobi on Saturday, Kanja emphasised the National Police Service’s responsibility to provide a secure environment for Kenyans to exercise their democratic rights peacefully.
The annual thanksgiving service brought together senior officials from the various uniformed and disciplined services, including Commissioner-General of Prisons Patrick Aranduh and senior commanders from the National Police Service and other security agencies.
