The Kenya Transporters Association (KTA) has set three conditions that must be met before transporters purchase or lease Electronic Cargo Seals under the new Multi-Vendor, User-Owned Electronic Seal Framework.
In an advisory dated October 23, 2026, the association urged its members and transporters in general to avoid making financial commitments until the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) formally confirms that the conditions have been met.
“Our concern is therefore not with the objective of electronic cargo monitoring, but with ensuring that the transition is undertaken in an orderly, transparent and financially sustainable manner without exposing transporters and regional trade to unnecessary costs or operational disruption,” KTA stated.
