Ida Odinga has reassured Kenyans that Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga is alive amid public concern over his health as the country gathers in Siaya County on Thursday, October 15, 2026, to mark the first anniversary of the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Her remarks come after reports about Oburu’s health circulated on social media, raising questions about his whereabouts and whether he would attend the memorial service in honour of his younger brother.
“Allow me to convey Oburu Oginga’s apologies. Dr Oburu is not feeling well, but he is not seriously ill. He is alive. The doctors have advised him to take it easy and avoid rowdy rallies like this,” Ida said.
