The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has rejected claims of political interference and corruption in the recruitment of teachers, saying the process is conducted independently and in accordance with the law.

The commission’s response follows recent allegations by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula that some Members of Parliament had received batches of teacher appointment letters for distribution to constituents.

TSC Chairperson Dr. Jamleck Muturi dismissed the claims, saying the commission does not issue appointment letters to politicians and that recruitment decisions are made through an established process.
