The High Court has upheld the corruption convictions of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and his co-accused, revoked their bonds and ordered their detention pending further court proceedings.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) said the court also overturned the acquittal of the four appellants on money laundering charges.
The ruling followed an appeal in which the accused challenged their convictions over several corruption-related offences arising from matters during Waititu’s tenure as Kiambu governor.
