Election process

East African Breweries PLC (EABL) shareholders have re-elected three directors and approved the continued service of chairman Martin Oduor-Otieno, who has attained the age of 70, months after Japanese drinks maker Asahi Group Holdings agreed to acquire a controlling stake in the brewer.

The decisions were made during the company’s 104th Annual General Meeting held virtually on Thursday, October 15, 2026, where shareholders also approved a final dividend of KSh8.70 per ordinary share for the financial year ended June 30, 2026.

Felix Okoboi, Paul Deo Makanza and Jimmy Mugerwa secured re-election after retiring by rotation under the company’s articles of association. Oduor-Otieno was cleared to remain on the board until his next retirement by rotation.
