The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is seeking
deeper cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to
strengthen cross-border corruption investigations and improve the recovery and
protection of public resources.
EACC CEO Abdi Mohamud held talks with
UNODC Executive Director Dr Monica Juma in Vienna, Austria, on October 16,
2026, focusing on law enforcement capacity, forensic technology and mutual
legal assistance across Eastern Africa.
The meeting comes as anti-corruption agencies face the
challenge of pursuing economic crimes that extend beyond national borders,
requiring closer collaboration and access to specialised investigative tools.
