Global oil prices continue rising amid supply concerns linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) reporting a further increase even as Kenyan motorists faced higher pump prices following the latest review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
In its weekly bulletin released on Friday, October 16, 2026, CBK reported that Murban crude oil prices had climbed to USD 102.39 (Ksh 13,291) per barrel, up from USD 101.67 (Ksh 13,198) a week earlier.
The latest increase followed a sharper rise in the preceding week, when prices moved from USD 95.76 (Ksh 12,431) per barrel on October 1 to USD 101.67 (Ksh 13,198) on October 8.
