The Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy has announced that all government institutions will have their websites and applications overhauled after critical security flaws were found in a major programming language called PHP.
PHP, created in 1994, helps run an estimated 70 per cent of the world’s websites, web applications and digital service platforms.
A fix was released Wednesday, with the PHP Foundation telling the tech departments of companies and organisations: “If you run PHP, it is imperative that you update now.”
