Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called on Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to widen investigations into the violence that disrupted the first anniversary memorial of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, demanding the arrest and prosecution of those who allegedly planned and financed the chaos.

Speaking at the SKM Command Centre on Monday, Kalonzo said the arrest of five suspects in connection with last Thursday’s incident at Migwena Grounds was insufficient, insisting that investigators must pursue those believed to have orchestrated the violence.

The Wiper leader accused the government of deploying what he described as “predatory violence” to intimidate opposition leaders and prevent them from engaging with residents in regions perceived to support the broad-based government.
