NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 27 — The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has stepped up compliance monitoring of broadcasters, streaming platforms and gaming operators during the October-December school holiday, warning against children’s exposure to age-inappropriate audiovisual content.

The Board is urging content distributors, exhibitors and operators of video halls and PlayStation gaming outlets to comply with licensing and classification requirements as learners spend nearly two months away from school.

In a consumer advisory, KFCB Acting Chief Executive Officer Nelly Muluka said the extended school break could increase children’s screen time and exposure to inappropriate material on television, streaming services, social media and online gaming platforms.
