Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret was filled to capacity before dawn on Tuesday as thousands of Kenyans turned up for this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations.
By 5:20 am, the stadium was already packed, with security personnel closing the gates after the venue reached capacity, leaving thousands of other Kenyans stranded outside.
The early turnout saw some attendees arrive hours before sunrise, while others who had travelled from different parts of the country reportedly spent the night at the stadium to secure their places ahead of the national celebrations.
