The government has raised concern over the increasing cases of child labour in Migori County, calling on stakeholders to join efforts to protect minors and ensure all children remain in school.
Migori County Labour Officer Bonface Karugi said authorities had witnessed a growing number of children working in gold mines, quarries and other activities across the county.
Karugi warned that employing children illegally would attract legal action, saying the labour office would pursue those found engaging minors in mining and other forms of work.
