The Ministry of Health has issued a safety advisory urging members of the public to keep away from the rescue area following a building collapse in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area.
In a statement dated October 24, the ministry said Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni announced that disaster response protocols had been activated and that the ministry was working with the Nairobi City County Government to support ongoing rescue operations.
She also said the ministry had established a 24-hour desk at the scene to coordinate medical support and assist rescue teams as the operation continued.
