NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 4 — People’s Party of Kenya (PPK) leader Ndindi Nyoro has challenged the opposition to look beyond voter numbers in identifying a joint presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election, saying leadership quality and experience should carry equal weight.
Nyoro cautioned against settling on a candidate solely on their ability to mobilise votes, warning that the opposition must avoid replacing President William Ruto with a leader who would replicate the shortcomings of the current administration.
“We cannot make the same mistake of electing another Ruto to replace Ruto,” the Kiharu MP said during public engagements in Mathioya and Kangema constituencies in Murang’a on Wednesday.
