US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Wednesday (September 30) announced a 20% reduction in general and admiral positions across the military and tapped trillionaire DOGE architect Elon Musk to help lead a new Pentagon effort focused on the future of warfare.
Speaking at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, one year after a speech in which he criticized senior military leadership and diversity initiatives, Hegseth said the Pentagon said military leaders who embraced the administration’s priorities remained in place.
In one of his most provocative remarks, Hegseth declared: “No fatties, no trannies, no beardos, no weirdos, no wimps, no radicals. Just warriors.”
