A group of Kenyan citizens and human rights defenders has moved to the Milimani Law Courts seeking to stop the government from committing public funds or resources towards the proposed international friendly between German giants Bayern Munich and Dutch side Ajax.
The match is scheduled for January 5, 2027, at Talanta Stadium.
In an application filed before the court, the petitioners are seeking conservatory orders restraining the government and other respondents from authorizing, allocating, releasing or spending public money on the event pending the hearing and determination of the case.
