Three women have been arrested in Migori Township after detectives recovered 55 bags of government-subsidised fertiliser allegedly being sold in breach of regulations governing the distribution of the farm input.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the arrests followed a tip-off from members of the public, which led detectives from Suna East to Apida area in Suna Central Location.
Upon arrival, the officers reportedly found the fertiliser, marked “NOT FOR SALE,” being offered for sale, raising suspicions of the illegal diversion of a commodity intended to support farmers.
