Winnie Odinga has declared her intention to contest the Nairobi Senate seat.
Speaking on Thursday, October 15, 2026, during the first anniversary memorial service of her late father, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga at Migwena Grounds in Bondo, Siaya County.
She put an end to speculation about her next move by announcing her intention to contest the Nairobi Senate seat during the 2027 General Elections. She made the declaration in reference to reports that incumbent Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna could be eyeing a higher political office, signalling her readiness to enter the race.
