Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has issued a stern warning to examination officials, banning them from carrying or using personal mobile phones at examination centres during the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
Under the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) guidelines, all examination personnel, including invigilators, supervisors, centre managers and security officers, are required to comply with strict communication restrictions.
The new measures prohibit examination officials from possessing personal mobile phones inside examination rooms or anywhere within examination centres while examinations are in progress. Only authorised centre managers will be allowed limited access to communication channels, and this will be strictly reserved for handling emergency administrative matters.
