The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has urged parents and guardians to protect children from inappropriate audiovisual content during the October-December long school holiday as learners spend nearly two months away from school.
In its media consumer advisory, the Board announced stepped-up compliance monitoring and reminded audiovisual content distributors, broadcasters and exhibitors to follow licensing and content classification requirements.
“The Board reminds audiovisual content distributors, broadcasters and exhibitors, including video-show operators, PlayStation operators and gaming platform operators, to comply with licensing and content classification requirements and ensure that children access only age-appropriate content,” KFCB stated.
