The Ministry of Health has denied claims that it switched off the Afya Ke digital health system in Murang’a County, maintaining that it neither owns nor manages the platform.
In a statement dated Thursday, October 15, 2026, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale dismissed allegations by Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata that the government had shut down the system.
Duale clarified that the platform operates under a private arrangement between the Murang’a County Government and its developers. He added that the ministry does not control the system or have access to its source code.
