Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aden Duale said Kenya could be declared free of Ebola after 42 days without a new case, in line with World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines.
Speaking on Citizen TV on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Duale said the government contained the outbreak by tracing contacts, quarantining exposed individuals, and conducting regular tests.
“We have contained it, and I am sure the next time Kenya will be free of Ebola is when we reach 42 days,” Duale said.
