The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has issued a public notice requiring cargo consolidators, customs agents and importers to accurately declare individual importer details for goods imported as consolidated cargo.
In a notice dated Tuesday, October 27, 2026, KRA said it was working with cargo consolidators to facilitate the issuance of electronic tax invoices through the Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS).
“The initiative aims to enhance transparency, strengthen accountability and support tax compliance, while enabling eligible VAT-registered importers to claim input VAT in accordance with applicable laws,” KRA stated.
